Flame Sensor Module

The Flame Sensor Module is designed to detect flames and light sources within the infrared wavelength range of 760 to 1100 nanometers. It is capable of sensing small flames, such as those from a lighter, from a distance of approximately 0.8 meters. With a detection angle of about 60 degrees, the sensor is particularly sensitive to the flame spectrum.

The module is equipped with an onboard LM393 op-amp, which acts as a comparator to enable sensitivity adjustments via the built-in potentiometer. It offers both analog and digital outputs, providing flexibility for various applications.

At the core of the module is the YG1006 sensor, a high-speed, highly sensitive NPN silicon phototransistor. Its black epoxy design enhances sensitivity to infrared radiation, making it ideal for flame detection tasks. The module’s digital output goes LOW, and its signal LED lights up when a flame is detected.

This sensor is a valuable tool for projects like firefighting robots, serving as a “robotic eye” to locate fire sources. Its ability to deliver both real-time voltage signals and set temperature thresholds adds to its versatility.
